Brother! America X Reader- The Government's Down!

“Alfred?” You open the door to your brother’s house, the smell of hamburgers greeting you. You throw your bag on the floor and walk into the living room.

“Hey bro, sorry for the intrusion, but since the government’s shut down they won’t let me work. Weird huh?” You go over to the couch and see your brother holding an ice pack to his forehead.

“Al…?” He groans. “Quiet down (Name), you’re too noisy.” You knew why your brother is in a crappy mood. Since he was the personification of America, anything that happened to the country happened to him. Apparently the government shutting down gave him a headache.

Well, that’s new.

“Is there anything I can do?” You whisper. “Can you get me some ibuprofen?” You go over to the medicine cabinet and grab the medicine. You hand him the two tablets and a cup of water. “Thanks (Name),” He swallows the pills then takes a cup of water.

“You know, I got you something from work today.” You worked in a federal state park, and since the government shut the park down, you got to go home early.

“What is it?” you grab your bag and pull out a shirt. They sold shirts you could customize, and you had made this for your brother yesterday; maybe this could help cheer him up.

You unfold it to reveal the words MY HERO on the front and a picture of the two of you in front of Mount Rushmore when both of you were little.

You hand him the shirt. “See, I do love my country,” You smile. “I love him very much.” You give him a hug, and he hugs you back.

“Thanks (Name), for being my hero.”
